The base GX460 comes with LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, illuminated running boards, privacy glass, a power moonroof, and a keyless entry. The Premium adds 18-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lights, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. To add more luxury features, choose the 460 Luxury. This trim has headlight washers, 19-inch alloy wheels, an adaptive suspension with an auto-leveling rear air suspension, and the option for an off-road package with protection for the fuel tank and a transmission oil cooler.

All of the GX460 models have a 4.6-liter V-8 engine that develops 301 horsepower. The six-speed automatic transmission that it works with helps to smoothly and efficiently get this large SUV up to speed, and a capable all-wheel-drive system comes standard with every trim.

With full-time four-wheel drive and a two-speed transfer case, the GX460 is capable both on and off the road. The Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System helps to minimize body lean when turning around tight corners, and it improves traction and wheel articulation when you take it off-road. Its four-wheel-drive system has Active Traction Control that keeps the wheels from slipping for confident handling over rough terrain and in inclement weather. It also has an electronic locking torque-sensing limited-slip differential for better power distribution between the front and rear wheels. When equipped, this SUV can tow up to 6,500 pounds.

In the GX's cabin, there are three rows of seats and room for up to seven. It has a mix of wood and leather trim accents, and synthetic leather upholstery comes standard in the base. The base trim also comes standard with a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat with memory and sliding, and reclining second-row seats. The Premium adds heated and ventilated front and second-row seats, and the option for captain's chairs in the second row. Tech features start with an 8-inch touch screen, four USB ports, satellite radio, the Lexus Enform infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, Siri Eyes Free, and Google Assistant, and a 120-volt power outlet in the cargo area. The Premium adds an integrated navigation system, and it now has Amazon Alexa.

All of the GX460 models come with the Lexus Safety System+ group of advanced driver aids. These include forward collision mitigation with an automatic braking system, pedestrian detection, lane-departure alert, and adaptive cruise control. All trims also have a blind-spot monitoring system and rear cross-traffic alert. The Lexus' Safety Connect System also comes standard, providing 24/7 emergency services. Safety Connect includes collision notification, a stolen-vehicle location function, and roadside assistance.
